CADDRA is working to close the gap between evidence and access in ADHD care by supporting clinicians with evidence-based guidelines, education and resources.
Why Advocacy Matters
ADHD affects people across the lifespan, yet it remains underrecognized and undertreated in Canada. When appropriate care is delayed or unavailable, individuals with ADHD face higher risks of academic failure, workplace challenges, mental illness, injury, and involvement with the justice system—outcomes that are preventable with timely, evidence-based care.
Despite the availability of effective treatments, stigma, misinformation, and a shortage of ADHD-trained providers continue to create barriers—especially for adults, rural and remote communities, and equity-deserving populations. The personal, societal, and economic costs are significant.
How CADDRA Drives Change
CADDRA provides national leadership in ADHD advocacy by advancing education, evidence-based resources, and clinical guidance for healthcare professionals and partners across Canada. Through research, education, guidelines and advocacy, CADDRA works to:
Build clinician confidence and knowledge in providing ADHD care
Improve access to ADHD-trained providers
Reduce stigma and misinformation
Promote timely, high-quality, and equitable care
By supporting healthcare professionals, educators, and systems of care with practical tools and up-to-date evidence, CADDRA helps improve long-term outcomes for individuals with ADHD and their families—while reducing the broader burden of this highly treatable condition.
